Introduction

We have begun with the introduction of a new database system:

1) Move TurboCASH over a wider set of platforms, in particular Linux

2) Increase the number of concurrent users

3) Make it easier for devlopers to enter the project.

TurboCASH 3 Series

We will continue to support and make small developments on TurboCASH 3 Series (Module leader is Sylvain Nzala)

  1. We have developed the Razor Plugin that will take XML and give back XML out of a TurboCASH Database
  2. We will continue to develop this and will then port this system to the new databses, making it transparent to systems developed using this.

Firebird

Pieter Valentijn is converting the current system to work with Firebird

  1. We have created a first draft of the database. Download here
  2. We are completing Database create Script in Delphi
  3. We are testing a "pump" to move the vast amounts of TurboCASH 3 Series data into the Firebird database. This will give us lots of data on which to perform copious tests.
  4. This will be loaded as a sub-project shortly onto Sourceforge.

MySQL

Ettienne Du Plessis has written a MySQL version of the TurboCASH Database.

  1. You can download the database here
  2. Ettienne has developed "pump" to move TurboCASH 3 Series data into the MySQL database. This will be released shortly as a Sub-project on Sourceforge.

Developers, particularly Lazarus and PHP developers should be able to connect to either of these databases and we would welcome your comments on their structure.
