Introduction
Open Source Software is not the only avenue open to investing in R and D. it is my speciality. I have been approached to investigate other options I would like to look at
Strong Kids
There is an urban legend that weight training is harmful to adolescents and pre adolescents. This three year study will monitor children in a training and supplements program and set out tp completely destroy this myth. In doing so we will open up a whole new market for the Lifestyle business.
Sea Harvest
The research project will determine if it is possible to alter the productive yield of fishing in a given area by capturing and redeploying food sources.
Wind Energy
South Africa has major wind belts. Currently European "windmill" style turbines do exist. Local Engineers would like to develop a Turbine based on Sailing technology.
Current Turbines
Much research has gone into Wind driven energy. Water current represnet adn interst alternative. South African has many current based environments. Implementing Turbines in these sloere moving environmsnts presents many challenges.
Mycology
One of the largely negtected areas of research in South Africa is that of commercial exploitaiton of Mushrooms. Current trends in this industry centre around simple mushroom types, but research is needed to provide a growing program for rarer and more valuable types.
